1. Purpose

The Wind Electric Power Unit (WEPU) is used to generate electric power from wind power to supply autonomous power to various household and special industrial powerusers when there is no central electric power supply or when it is supplied non-regularly.

2. Advantages

The unit is based on a specially designed Ring Generator. Its main advantage is a combination of a big diameter and a low weight per power unit. By its operational principle, it can be described as a three-phase synchronized power unit with a non-contact agitation from natural magnets. It is fully moisture and dust protected.
The blades of a special design are made of glass-carbon-fiber reinforced plastic by special technology. They are characterized by impressive capabilities and low weight that reduces WEPU general vibrations.

Household activities

General technical and economic characteristics of wind electric power unit.

Wind electric power unit is in fact identical to the traditional units. The main differences are in usage of the latest technologies in production of blades and electric generator allowing to reduce considerably their cost with the same parameters of quality and durability.
Long blades with small area have better aerodynamic characteristics and less weight which in combination with their production from glass-coal-fiber with a porous aggregate using the solid-form technology make them strong, hard and thermally stable during all their lifetime. The blade has been successfully tested in the wind tunnel at the Central Aerohydrodynamic Institute named after Zhukovskiy.
The blade length - 2m, weight - 1kg.
The generator is 3-phase, brushless, magnetic.

Has the following differences from the analogous models:

  1. big diameter and small length, with capacity of 5 kW at 500 rpm - 0.6 m and 0.3 m respectively;
  2. no housing;
  3. all power membranes are made of glass-coal-fiber;
  4. low relative density - 25 kg;
  5. its production doesn't require any complex and expensive basis;
  6. low cost;
  7. absolute tightness of metallic and conductive parts;
  8. effective wind cooling.

The mast of WEPU is made of glass-fiber. It has low weight and respectively less vibration compared to metallic constructions. The weight of running meter of such mast is 3 kg. It is mounted with 3-4 backstay cables. It is possible to construct a mast-tower without guys.
